The MPR require all members of the minimum complement of a vessel to hold a training certificate in marine emergency duties. The members of the minimum complement are listed in the vessel's Safe Manning Document. Here are the Marine Emergency Duties requirements for fishing vessels:

A visitors pass from the gate to get on the property & ship. To get a pass you must produce your drivers licence and or other ID.
To cross the yard everyone must wear an orange vest and walk within the yellow painted pedestrian walkway.
To board or leave the ship, you must wear a helmet.
Students must sign a company wavier/release form
Students will go through a MAI safety orientation, vessel familiarization prior, or to start their placement
A security clearance/picture ID which is made on site.
White shirt and black or dark blue pants to be up front for passenger service portion.
Sae approved steel toe shoes/boots
Dress and act formally on the bridge. No ball caps, lounging etc.

All vehicles must back into their parking space for quick dispatch in case of an emergency
Students remain on board the tug for the duration of their stay and are responsible for their own meals
Students bring with them basic PPE and food for their stay (safety glasses, work gloves, coveralls, steel toe boots)
For this co-op we highly recommend that students acquire their MED A-1
