this Project you must produce an 11" x 17"
PEBS poster. PEBS or
Positive Effective Behaviour Supports,
is a very important system that Dalbrae has
adopted to improve the environment within our school. The focus of the system is
found in the dragon's L
A I R. The letters L-A-I-R represent the principles that make up the PEBS
matrix. The principals of
are broken down in a chart found in everyone's agenda. You are to choose a
bullet from the chart and make that statement the purpose of your poster.
Everyone is to produce a different message taken from the chart. As a result the
bullets/message will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
Requirements for all posters are as
- 11" wide x 17" high
- You must include the PEBS logo above.
In order to do so, click on the thumbnail and save the origional. Obviously the working copy is much
too big. It needs to be made more
vibrant.....and perhaps rid of the boring square shape. Remember, for the
most part, that you are going to use a size not a lot bigger than this thumb
nail of the working copy. You may alter it somewhat, like ....perhaps rid of
the signatures and increase the size of the SRSB insignia.
The Dragon LAIR banner needs to be incorporated. It also requires
refinement. Presently all we have thus far is found @
http://www.dalbrae.net/pebs/dragon_l_a_i_r.htm . It too will need some
enhancing and artistic expression. You may arrange the banner either at the
top or bottom and could include the PEBS logo within the banner.
- You are to include or highlight the
principle from which your message is part. In other words, not only do you
illustrate " Appreciate other's right to learn" (if that were your choice),
but you would also highlight "Respect" (as the principal) and that it
means "I consider how my behavior impacts the world around me". This
maybe done within your banner once again, or by some other layout within
- Obviously your bullet/ message must
be the main attraction. It must be clear. As we discussed, you could use the
red "X" (or red circle with the line
through it) on the bad behavior vs the green
check on the proper behavior, or simply a sampling of what is expected.
Perhaps a sequential (step by step) event......and so-on
- Your imagery must tell the story to
support your bullet
- Your are to utilize your Photoshop
skills and make use of not only your imagination, but "the gear". You are
not to make use of images found on the net unless you have permission. This
is partly due to copy right issues and partly because you should use the
familiarity of our own environment here at Dalbrae to make the best
relevance and impact with your message.
- So you will need to take your own
pictures. Before you get a camera you must have a plan. You will need to
make a rough hand drawn copy that will be passed in for approval and
20%= (format) folder with originals,
size, and proper use of PEBS matrix elements.
20%= cleanup and usage of banner,
30%= clarity of message
